Riva Smith is a law clerk in the firm’s Trademark and Copyright practice group.
She is heavily involved with the firm’s trademark prosecution and brand protection matters. Riva is a recent law school graduate of the American University, Washington College of Law.

Prior Experience
Prior to joining the firm, Riva worked at various reputable intellectual property firms throughout the DC and Boston area while attending law school. There, she assisted attorneys with trademark prosecution, assignments, renewals, and enforcement matters. Riva had the opportunity to work with diverse clients ranging from well-established companies to business start-ups.
Riva was a member of the American University Intellectual Property Brief, ultimately serving as the Senior Trademark Editor. During her tenure, she authored several articles regarding current issues in trademark and copyright law. Riva also interned in the trademark group of a top pharmaceutical company.
