Erin Dierkes is an associate attorney on the firm’s Chemistry and Life Sciences and Engineering and Design Teams.

Erin focuses her practice on patent prosecution, portfolio management, and client counseling in the fields of chemical, bio, and pharmaceutical technologies, with an emphasis on:

  • Psychedelic-derived pharmaceuticals and their crystalline forms

  • Catalysts, adsorbents, polymers, and polymer compositions

Prior Experience

Erin spent a summer during law school as a Student Extern at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where she participated in the patent application examination process, including performing prior art searches, and conducted legal research of recent Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and Supreme Court decisions related to patentability. Erin also spent time at another Intellectual Property law firm during law school, where she conducted prior art searches and supported the patent litigation team.

Prior to law school, Erin spent time working in the medical device industry in the field of neuromodulation, where she assisted doctors and surgeons with the implantation of spinal cord stimulators and helped patients with the operation of their implanted devices.
